Quinton de Kock-Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine, Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) maverick, gave his team a brilliant start, chasing 239 runs to win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). After missing out in the first three games, he has given the Knight Riders a quick start in the record chase.

Chasing 239 runs to win, KKR scored 15 and 16 runs, respectively, in the first two overs to give the team a good start in the big chase. Quinton de Kock (15 runs off nine balls) was dismissed in the third over by Akash Deep, who was wayward with his first over.

Since then, Ajinkya Rahane (30 runs off 12 balls) and Sunil Narine (30 runs off 13 balls) have added a 50-run stand already. They have dealt in fours and sixes, making the LSG bowlers panic in the early overs. By the end of the powerplay, KKR raced through to 90 runs inside the powerplay losing just one wicket.

KKR Posted 90 runs Inside The Powerplay

KKR lost the key wicket of Sunil Narine just outside the powerplay in the seventh over. He was dismissed by Digvesh Rathi in his very first over. Narine added 54 runs with Rahane, giving the advantage to KKR inside the powerplay. The Rahane-Iyer pair was a touch cautious as they started to repair the KKR innings. After 10 overs, KKR reached 129 runs for 2 wickets, with Iyer and Rahane adding 38 runs off 22 balls since Narine's dismissal.

Earlier in the game, Mitchell Marsh (81 runs off 48 balls), Aiden Markram (47 off 28 balls), and Nicholas Pooran (87* runs off 36 balls) blasted the KKR bowlers on their way to posting 238 runs for 3 wickets with the bat. All the KKR bowlers went the distance. Harshit Rana picked up two wickets for 51 balls. The pick of the bowlers was Vaibhav Arora, who went for 38 runs off his four overs. Sunil Narine did not complete his quota of overs as he went for 38 runs off his three overs. This is the second game where Narine did not complete his quota of overs.

KKR still needs over 100 runs in the final 10 overs, but the Rahane-Narine stand and the belligerent hitting inside the powerplay have kept the Knight Riders in the run-chase.
