Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), after beating Mumbai Indians in their last game, has now travelled to Kolkata to play against the Knights. KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bowl first.
LSG, courtesy of Aiden Markram (42 runs off 24 balls) and Mitchell Marsh (49 runs off 34 balls), got a good start. Spencer Johnson, in his two overs inside the powerplay, went for 30 runs. Two good overs from Vaibhav Arora fetched just 8 runs. Varun Chakravarthy went for just 3 runs in his first over. Harshit Rana, bowling the final over of the powerplay, went for 16 runs as LSG finished with 59 runs in the first six overs without losing a wicket.

KKR Bowlers Dominated Inside The Powerplay
Sunil Narine came to bowl the seventh over of the LSG innings. He went for 13 runs off his first over with Mitchell Marsh hitting him for a four and a six. The fast start by the Lucknow openers took the KKR bowlers on the back foot. 200 runs is the par first-innings score, and the Super Giants are well on their course to go beyond that at this rate. KKR's decision to drop Moeen Ali and bring back Spender Johnson took everyone by surprise.
KKR is always a spin-dominant side, and thus bringing back an overseas pacer in place of an all-rounder who provides batting depth is difficult to understand at this point. The LSG openers continued on their merry way and finished with 95 runs in the first 10 overs.
