Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan slammed a media house without specifying the name for spreading fake news over his comments linked with Jasprit Bumrah. There were previous reports of Pathan slamming the Indian team over workload concerns of Bumrah.
As per the report, he slammed the Indian team for bowling Bumrah in short spells. The comparison emerged from Ben Stokes bowling a match-winning spell of nearly 10 overs in the final day of the Lord’s Test.
A report claimed that Irfan Pathan praised Ben Stokes while criticising Jasprit Bumrah’s workload concerns. However, the Indian all-rounder has now broken his silence on the matter and ended the debate.

Irfan Pathan Slams Unspecified Media House Over Fake Jasprit Bumrah News
He took to his official X handle to clear the confusion, saying that he did not criticise Jasprit Bumrah and neither the Indian team on his bowling or on his workload concerns.
"Absolutely not. If Bumrah wanted to bowl another over or asked the captain for one when Joe Root came in, no team or management in the world would stop him. So please stop spreading fake news-I never questioned Team India on this” Pathan wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Team India Assistant Coach Ryan ten Doeschate dismissed any concerns regarding Bumrah’s bowling workload, saying that bowling Bumrah in short spells was part of the team management’s plan and as a team, they are not here to compare with anyone.
"That was super impressive for Ben to come out on their last day and bowl the amount of overs he did with the intensity he did, and obviously bats and fields as well. We’re not here to compare our bowlers to individuals from other teams. We have our own strengths. We know what particularly Jasprit does in spells, in shorter spells, which he prefers bowling in. "And when the time’s right, and what I alluded about Siraj, some bowlers are like that. You get the best out of them in their seventh, eighth and ninth over, but not everyone has to be the same as that. And we feel that in consultation with Jasprit, how we use him is the best way for the team" he added.
